Conteur (French for ‘storyteller’) was founded on the belief that the most powerful films are the most human. For us, filmmaking is not about selling a service; it’s about uncovering genuine purpose and crafting compelling narratives that people feel, not just watch.

Gillian Davies

Gillian Davies
Beginning her career as a broadcast journalist and weather presenter for ITV, Gillian’s passion for the industry was one of the drivers behind setting up Conteur. She now heads up the video production team, using her creative vision to lead the team in creating impactful, cinematic content that informs, entertains and inspires.
When Gillian’s not leading the video production team in creating masterpieces, handling urgent crisis communications incidents or creating the perfect voice over, you might find her chasing a storm (literally!), travelling or spending quality time with her friends and family.

Simon Lucas
Director of Photography

Simon Lucas
Simon is an award-winning video production professional with more than 17 years of experience. From commercials to live outside broadcasts to factual entertainment TV – you name it, he’s filmed it.
When he’s not behind the camera, he’s behind a drumkit playing drums in a heavy metal band, collecting vinyl records and rare books.

Tom Carter
Senior Video Producer

Tom Carter
‘Tech Tom’ started his production career as an apprentice in 2016. When he isn’t fixing IT issues for the rest of the team, he’s likely out on a shoot – arranging everything from location scouting and lighting to filming heartfelt interviews – or he’s in the office editing or creating animations that bring stories to life.
Outside of work, you’ll likely find him at the cinema, in the gym or spending time with friends and family.

Sheridan Courtney
Post Production Senior

Campaigns that position our clients at the forefront of their sectors, that stop the scroll, that stick in the mind and stay there.”
Sheridan Courtney
Sheridan, a master in balancing creativity with strategic thinking and technical knowledge, joined the Conteur team back in 2021 after a three year stint in an internal digital marketing team for the University of Worcester. At Conteur, Sheridan’s experience includes editing video for paid and organic campaigns, as well as project-managing AdSmart for Sky television adverts from pre-production to delivery.
A keen photographer and animator, Sheridan loves to read (specifically fantasy and science-fiction – even more when it’s a blend of the two!), and play board games or the odd video game when he gets the opportunity.
When he’s not relaxing, Sheridan enjoys keeping fit and has recently added hiking and camping to his list of hobbies, but forever a film fanatic, cinema and film are his primary passions.

Sonia Tabakovic
Production Assistant (she/they)
Sonia Tabakovic
Production Assistant Sonia revels in risk assessments, call sheets and research, priding themselves in dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s.
They find satisfaction in being ‘cautiously curious’ about everything behind-the-scenes that makes for a successful filming day.
When she’s not editing social shorts, you might find them climbing a rock face or performing with their contemporary dance troupe. Catch them if you can!
